Jeremiah R. McGuire
Director of Labor Relations

Jerry McGuire joined the State Police in 1972 and was assigned to Troop L in Litchfield for two years and Troop I in Bethany for 12 years. He served as a Peer Contact for three years with the Employees Assistance Program and has been with the Union since its inception in 1981. He was elected Secretary of the Union in 1982 and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1992. As a member of the Executive Committee, he served on the Labor Management Committee, Stress Committee, and Training Committee. He was Chairman of the 1987 to 1990 Contract Negotiations Team and served on every team since 1984. Serving numerous positions on the Union's Board of Directors, he then joined the Union staff as their full-time Labor Agent in 1992.  Jerry retired from the Union in 2011 after 23 years of service, making him the longest serving Union staff member in its history.  He leaves behind a legacy of fighting for members' rights that will not soon be forgotten.
